CREDIT OVERLOAD REQUEST FORM

By completing the following form, you are requesting approval to register for more than 18 credits in the same term. Requests must be submitted before the start of the term.

You must meet ALL of the following criteria to get credit overload approval:

Cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.00 or higher;
All courses for the term requested are applicable to your program of study;
Completed 15 or more college credits per term in at least two prior terms with a minimum term GPA of 3.00 and without receiving any grades of F, W, or N in those terms;
No pending Incomplete (I) grades;
Total credits for the term cannot exceed 22

If you do not meet the criteria listed above, you can still submit the request, but you must provide the reason you are requesting a credit overload in the box below. Your request will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the Director of Student Academic Support Services.

Examples:

This is my last term and a need this class in order to graduate;
I need to take this class because it is required for being an editor on CCC’s newspaper;
I need to take wind ensemble in addition to my 18 credits to keep my Music scholarship).

It is my responsibility to drop my course(s) within the designated drop deadlines and accept any financial implications that may result from dropping my course(s).
